AS Collection

“The AS collection in resin consists of three objects that read as quiet experiments in material and perception. There is no single declared inspiration or narrative; rather the works emerge as a near-inevitable outcome of our studio’s ongoing research into how resin responds to light and to variations in depth and thickness. Through the interplay of polished and sandblasted surfaces, each piece negotiates opposing tactile and optical registers: the glossy, mirror-like faces reflect and compress space, while the matte, sandblasted sides diffuse and soften. This deliberate juxtaposition—our tentative starting point—reveals how subtle shifts in finish and mass alter spatial presence, inviting viewers to move around and through changing reflections and refractions. Because of resin’s properties, and above all its captivating transparency, the objects appear perpetually in flux, adapting their appearance to their surroundings. Gradations of sunlight and shadow activate internal strata and edges, eliciting oscillations between weight and airiness, mass and flow, opacity and diaphaneity. Depending on angle, time of day, and proximity, each object alternately withdraws into itself or extends into the room, a mutable archive of light that records and responds to its context rather than prescribing a single meaning.”
